Zero Punctuation: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

>> ^SpeveO:

I worked on this game at Eidos Montreal. But regardless, it was confirmed in the making of and by the press.

The boss fights were outsourced to another studio. What a retarded decision.

Um, I don't think so. Where did you hear that?

WOW. That's just... bizarre. Why the hell would Square/Eidos outsource the boss fights?? That would certainly explain what went wrong. Wow. Bizarre, man.

@mentality disagree. Although I wouldn't call DX THE best PC game of all time but it's definitely one of the best.

Still haven't completed DX: Human Revolution yet (almost there i think) but it's fantastic. They've done a fantastic job at recreating the atmopshere and style of the original game yet modernising it in all the good ways. It's not without it's faults but I commend Eidos Montreal and I now look forward to seeing what Thief 4 becomes after being burned by Deadly Shadows

Square-Enix, the japanese developer of Final Fantasy are known for great CGI-trailers, true, but they are probably not involved in this game at all. The only reason this game has a Squeenix logo is because they bought Eidos last year, the game is being developed in Canada by Eidos Montreal.

I don't like the way they are branding stuff after the takeover, it's very confusing and easy to think the japan studio is somehow involved with games they have nothing to do with.

Zero Punctuation: Thief The Dark Project

With Ubisoft buying old Eidos IPs there is alot of speculation that after Dues Ex 3, Ubisoft will be resurrecting the Thief franchise.

DO NOT WANT!

I would hate to see Thief become a watered down action based stealth game (oxymoron?) with thin 2D plot and corridor design... All of which synonymous is the 'resurrection of franchise' industry these days.

Well actually Looking Glass Studios folded mostly because while making incredible innovative games that were highly praised critically they never sold enough copies and constantly needed capital injections.

When Eidos over reached with its frivolous funding for Ion Storm it couldn't come up with the capital to sustain LGS, the company folded and much of the staff got rolled into Ion Storm Austin.

With Ubisoft buying old Eidos IPs there is alot of speculation that after Dues Ex 3, Ubisoft will be resurrecting the Thief franchise.

Deus Ex - It's raining cats!

I love this game. I still play it on occasion. Best storyline of any game I've ever played.

I really hope Eidos doesn't fuck up Deus Ex 3 like they did with "Invisible War"... (Invisible Game is more like it...)

I've read a lot of interviews with the heads of Eidos Montreal, and they sound like they're going to redeem everything that went bad with DX2. God I hope so.
